Blue Collar refers to a specific type of working condition, mainly jobs that require physical labor, blue collar is a culture with expectations, values and experience.
Life as a Blue Collar Wife
The moment I fell in love with a blue-collar worker, I knew life as I knew it would forever change. From the late nights, the distance, to the long strenuous hours. It takes a special person to be a Blue Collar Wife, kind of like the workers. We require grit, strength, tenacity, understanding and a whole lot of patience. We come to terms with missed occasions, plan changes and events that are forever canceled.
Hi, I'm Krystal Whittle, I am married to the love of my life and best friend Mack (Trey) Whittle, hence W2 (Whittle squared).
I am a native Floridian, born and raised in Okeechobee, Florida… when you think Florida, I’m sure your first thought was beaches… here in Okeechobee we say y’all, sir and ma’am, there’s more cows than people and complete strangers still hold the door for you. We stand out on the map as the large body of water in sunny south central Florida. (Not a beach, a lake) a fisherman’s dream, “Lake O” is known for speckled perch, large mouth bass and tons of airboat trails, it wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t add frog giggin’ and an absurd amount of alligators. I could go on about Okeechobee but this is “about us” My husband is native to South Carolina but he was born in Florida, (he hates when I tell people that so please don’t tell anyone, wink… wink) We met here in Florida as he works here. Immediately life had different plans for us but when the time was right we came back together and the rest is history… (His version of the story is much better than mine.)
I have one biological child, Destani who is 22 years old and 2 bonus children Madison who is 16 years old and Mason who is 12 years old.
I grew up in a blue collar family before blue collar was what it is today.
My Dad, who unfortunately passed away, in 2022 was in the Navy, when he came home from the Navy he became a carpenter, he was a union carpenter for several years until, he decided to open his own business in 1980, he was a very successful man for only completing school until the 8th grade, he retired when his health began to decline, unbeknownst to him at the time, due to a chemical he encountered in the military.
He is one of my main inspirations for the W2 brand.
The Making of W2Apparel
In honor of the amazing people who keep America running, brand my store in a way that caters to their lifestyle.
To who they are as people, both at work and outside of their day to day jobs.
Although my husband is a lineman (technically a foreman) our vision doesn’t stop there. We also know about welders, pipe-fitters, electricians, conductors, plumbers, police officers, firefighters, carpenters, bricklayers, mechanics, equipment operators, farmers, cowboys, millwrights, miners, loggers, truck drivers, veterans… and well you get the point!
The plan is to have something for EVERYONE, but you have to start somewhere, right? We meet people from every end of the spectrum, religious, not religious, some who love cussing and some who refuse to utter a bad word, it is my intent to provide for each and every person.
As a small business, I appreciate you being here more than you know.
Thank you for visiting W2Apparel!
